Airport

Gothenburg has one international airport, Landvetter Airport (GOT) located about 20 minutes distance from the conference centre with the aiport coach. Gothenburg is approximately 3 hours from the cities of Stockholm, Copenhagen, and Oslo by train. Please contact the Swedish rail operator, SJ for ticket reservation. The conference secretariat can advise when making ticket reservations.

 

Airport coaches

The airport coaches provide direct connection from Landvetter Airport (GOT) to the conference venue. Buses leave every 20 to 30 minutes, and the transfer takes ca 20 minutes and costs 89 SEK for adults and 65 SEK for youth. Transfer by taxi takes ca 15 minutes and costs approximately 350 SEK.  

 

Taxi

If you want to take a taxi from the airport to your hotel, we recommend that you make a reservation beforehand. Visit the website of Taxi Göteborg - the largest taxi company in the area for details.

 

Currency

The Swedish Krona, SEK, is the currency of Sweden. 1 EUR is approximately 9 SEK; and 1 USD is approximately 7 SEK. A currency calculator for actual conversion rates can be found at www.x-rates.com/calculator.html.

 

Insurance

We recommended that you purchase an insurance policy of your choice as you book your travel to the conference. The Conference Organisers cannot accept any liability for personal injuries sustained, or for loss or damage to property belonging to conference participants,  during or in connection to the conference.

 

Visa

If you are visiting Sweden on a business or conference trip and are a citizen of a non-EU country, you may need a visa. You can find information on how to obtain a visa at the webpage of the Swedish Immigration authorities. Would you need an invitation letter for your visa application please contact the organisers at info@isxb-2.eu after you have completed the registration. Include in this e-mail your full name (written as in your passport), date of birth, position and company/university and address. Please allow up to 7 days for us to process your request.

 

Language

The official conference language is English. The official language of Sweden is Swedish, but you will get around easily by using English in all situations in Sweden.

 

Göteborg or Gothenburg?

Gothenburg is the English name for the city known in Swedish as Göteborg. As an old port city, it has received many names through history. In Spanish and Portuguese, the city is also known as Gotemburgo.
